Hey there!
If you're receiving this email it only means one thing... you're awesome.
As some of you may know, I signed up to run another half-marathon this year (my second one ever!) and with it I’m raising money for suicide prevention and awareness. Around this time last year a great friend of mine committed suicide and suddenly an issue that seemed so hush hush in society became something I wanted to vocalize and do whatever I could do to help prevent it from happening to others.
I started running roughly six months ago and I've found that not only can running be something great for your mind and body, but it's also a great tool to raise awareness about issues such as this. With the recent suicides in these past weeks in the US it makes me want to shout it at the top of my lungs more than ever, to raise money, raise awareness, and prevent anyone from ever having to going through this.
GO Marlow! is something I started earlier this year to share my running journey and things I learn along the way. Through GO Marlow! I’ve set a challenge for this half-marathon and that is to raise $1,000.00 for suicide awareness and prevention. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to To Write Love On Her Arms – an amazing non-profit organization that does anything and everything in it’s power to raise awareness about suicide prevention and spread love to anyone who may be in a dark place.
I’m reaching out to you for support and help in raising money for this cause. Donations are much appreciated, but if anything I’m asking that you help spread the word (forward this email, text a friend, mention it around the water cooler at work, etc.) and spread love to those around you. My two legs and I can only run so far and spread the word to so many people on our own!
Donations can be made at www.go-marlow.com
With TONS of running love,
Megan
So yes, if you want to help out with donations, or just pass the word along, PLEASE DO! Any support for such a cause is huge, not just for Megan, but for all of us. Thanks!Stay sharp, kids
Jesse
